Team USA and South Korea square off in a rematch of Group A's final preliminary round, a game in which the U.S. emerged victorious, 8-0. Brody Roybal led the U.S. offensive surge with four goals, while Steve Cash was solid in net, recording his 15th career Worlds shutout. The U.S. is 1-0 against South Korea in all-time playoff matchups, and is a perfect 6-0 in Worlds semifinals since 2009.

Of the nine periods of play this year, the U.S. has outshot opponents in all but one period. In total, the U.S. has outshot its opponents 91-12 across three games. Over the past two games, the U.S. has only allowed three shots on net.

Three of the top-five tournament leaders in faceoffs play for Team USA. Declan Farmer leads all tournament players with a 76.71 win percentage, while Rico Roman (67.65%) and Josh Misiewicz (65.00%) rank third and fifth, respectively.
