Gameday: U.S. Set to Finish 2021 Five Nations Tournament Against Switzerland

The U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select Team will wrap up its 2021 Five Nations campaign against host Switzerland. Game time is 10 a.m. ET from Lonza Arena in Visp, Switzerland. The game will be streamed live on YouTube. Team USA is 3-0 in the event and has clinched the Five Nations championship regardless of the outcomes of today’s game.

Today’s Opponent

Team USA is 5-0 (W-L) in its last five outings against Switzerland at the Five Nations Tournament. In the most recent matchup between the two squads, which came in 2019, Jack Peart (Grand Rapids, Mich.) scored twice for Team USA in a 5-2 victory. 

Game Three Recap

Due to COVID-19 concerns, Team Germany elected not to play Friday’s game against Team USA and per IIHF rules, the U.S. was awarded a 5-0 win.

On the Score Sheet

Charlie Kinsman (Orchard Park, N.Y.), Matt Mania (Olmstead Township, Ohio), Carey Terrance (Akwesasne, N.Y.) and William Whitelaw (Rosemount, Minn.) all have four points in the Five Nations Tournament to pace Team USA. Cooper Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.) and Terrance lead the way with three goals each, while Kinsman stands alone with four assists.
