U.S. Women’s National Team To Face Canada; Autograph Session To Follow

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The U.S. Women’s National Team will face Canada on Friday (Oct. 22) at PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to open play in the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota.

Fans will have the chance to see U.S. stars Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Lee Stecklein and many others as one of the greatest rivalries in sports renews.

Opening faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and tickets are available at the PPL Center box office and online here.

The game features the top two women’s teams in the world and is part of preparations for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

Below is a rundown of the festivities associated with the game.

DAY BEFORE THE GAME – Oct. 21

YOUTH CLINIC, presented by Toyota

On Thursday (Oct. 21), USA Hockey will host two youth clinics at PPL Center for local girls ages 9-12 from the Allentown area. The clinics will run from 6 – 7 p.m. and 7:15 – 8:15 p.m. and select members of the U.S. Women’s National Team will be participating. Those interested can register by clicking here. Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

GAME DAY – Oct. 22

PRE-GAME CHALK TALK – Women In Sport – Section 115 at 5:40 p.m.

Kristi Fulkerson from Service Electric TV will moderate and participate in a panel for invited guests titled “Women In Sport” and featuring Kristen Wright, ADM manager of female hockey for USA Hockey and Hayley Moore, vice president of hockey operations for the AHL.

PRESENTING THE COLORS

Girl Scout Troop 30903 from Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, will present the colors prior to the game with Kenslie Rockovits from the Phantoms Youth Girls 12U team serving as the U.S. flag bearer and Abby Rogers from the Lady Patriots U19AA team the Canadian flag bearer.

NATIONAL ANTHEM SINGERS

Keith Gerhart (Bachtelsville, Penn.) will sing the Canadian national anthem and Kendal Conrad (Pottstown, Penn.) the U.S. national anthem.

CEREMONIAL PUCK DROP

Hayley Moore, vice president of hockey operations for the AHL and former captain of the Brown University women’s ice hockey team, will drop the ceremonial first puck prior to the game between U.S. captain Kendall Coyne Schofield and Canadian captain Marie-Philip Poulin.

TOYOTA SHOWCASING VEHICLES

Fans will have a chance to see some of the hottest vehicles in the Toyota lineup in the concourse of PPL Center.

YOUTH GAMES DURING INTERMISSIONS

Youngsters from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms youth U10 and girls U8 programs in Bethlehem, Pa., will showcase their skills during the first and second intermissions.

AUTOGRAPHS FOLLOWING THE GAME

Following the game, fans will have a chance to get autographs from selected members of the U.S. Women’s National Team on the concourse stage near sections 110/111. Masks covering nose and mouth will be required for the autograph session.

SOCIAL HASHTAG

Fans are invited to utilize the hashtag #MyWhyTour on social media.

LIVE TELEVISION

The game will be televised live in the U.S. on NHL Network with Kenzie Lalonde and Cheryl Pounder calling the action.
