GAMEDAY: U.S. to Face Canada in My Why Tour Tilt in Hartford

Teams match up for second time in four days at the XL Center

The U.S. Women’s National Team will take to the ice for the second time in four days to face Canada in the second game of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live in the U.S. on NHL Network. 

LAST TIME OUT

Tonight's tilt marks the second game in four days against Canada for the U.S. Women's National Team. The team is coming off a 3-1 loss to the Canadians in the first game of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota in Allentown, Pa. on Friday. Hayley Scamurra (Getzville, N.Y.) tallied Team USA's lone goal, while Alex Cavallini (Delafield, Wis.) posted 16 saves in net.

AT HOME IN HARTFORD

Team USA returns to a familiar place, Hartford, for the second game of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota. The last time the U.S. Women's National Team played at the XL Center, they defeated Canada, 4-1, in the first game of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series on Dec. 14, 2019. Nine U.S. players tallied a point, while Alex Cavallini(Delafield, Wis.) recorded 32 saves in net.

COMING HOME

Tonight's tilt marks a homecoming for nine players and two assistant coaches with New England ties. Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), Kali Flanagan (Hudson, N.H.) and Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H.) all grew up in the New England area, while Cayla Barnes (Eastvale, Calif.), Carpenter, Jesse Compher(Northbrook, Ill.), Kendall Coyne Schofield (Palos Heights, Ill.), Flanagan, Megan Keller (Farmington, Mich.) and Hayley Scamurra (Getzville, N.Y.) all attended college in Boston. Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) attended high school at Choate Rosemary Hall, 27 miles from the XL Center. Assistant Coaches Brian Pothier(New Bedford, Mass.) and Courtney Kennedy (Wobrurn, Mass.) are from the area as well.
