Game Day: U.S. and Canada Meet For A Second Time In St. Louis

Team USA hits the ice for the second time in three days, taking on Canada in St. Louis, Mo. for the sixth installment of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota. Faceoff at the Centene Community Ice Center will take place at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on NHL Network.

LAST TIME OUT

Team USA and Canada last met on December 15 at Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo., with Canada sneaking out a 2-1 OT victory. Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) recorded Team USA's lone goal, a highlight-reel score from behind the net in the second period, as the U.S. out shot Canada, 32-26. Megan Keller (Farmington, Hills, Mich.) and Kendall Coyne Schofield (Palos Heights, Ill.) recorded the assists, while Alex Cavallini (Delafield, Wis.) stopped 24 of 26 shots in net.

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP

Tonight's match up marks the second meeting in three days between the two squads and sixth overall as part of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota. Team USA has won two of the last three match ups.

ON THE SERIES

Through the first four games, Team USA is outshooting Canada, 125-111, and has scored four of its nine goals on the power play.

SPREAD THE LOVE

Through five games of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota, 11 of Team USA's 23 players have hit the score sheet, recording at least one point. Four different players have hit the back of the net with Knight leading the way with four, followed by Amanda Kessel (Madison, Wis.) and Hayley Scamurra (Getzville, N.Y.) with two each.

MAKING THE TEAM

The U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey team is set to be announced on Jan. 1 at the NHL Winter Classic in Minneapolis, Minn. The final, 23-player roster will debut during the second intermission.
