Tournament will be played in June; exact dates and location to be announced at a later date

The 2022 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship has been rescheduled for the United States in June 2022. Exact dates and location will be announced at a later date.

"We’re pleased to step forward and host the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship this summer. Like everyone, we were disappointed the tournament was initially canceled," said Pat Kelleher, executive director of USA Hockey. "While it’s a significant undertaking in a short period of time, we look forward to putting on a great championship and providing an opportunity for the eight competing teams a chance to win a world championship. We anticipate announcing dates and location for the tournament in the near future."

The 2022 tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Linköping and Mjölby, Sweden. On Dec. 24, 2021, it was announced by the IIHF that all January 2022 championships would be canceled, including the IIHF U18 Women's World Championship.

Most recently, the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team went 3-1-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) at the 2020 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship to claim a fifth gold medal in the last six years and extend its unprecedented medal streak in tournament play to 13-straight IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championships.
