COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – NHL Network announced today its broadcast plans for the IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship, which includes live coverage of all U.S. games either on NHLN or ESPN+. The tournament will take place June 6-13 in Madison and Middleton, Wisconsin, and it will be the first time ever the event has had live network television coverage in the U.S.
NHL Network will air all U.S. games either live or delayed, but has collaborated with ESPN+ to ensure all U.S. contests are available live. In addition, other select games played at LaBahn Arena will be made available live in the U.S. through ESPN+.
The tournament includes the top eight teams in the world. Group A will play preliminary round games at LaBahn Arena in Madison and features the United States, Canada, Finland and Sweden. Group B, featuring Czechia, Switzerland, Germany and Slovakia, will play its preliminary round games at Bob Suter’s Capitol Ice Arena in Middleton. The playoff round, including quarterfinals, semifinals and bronze and gold-medal games, will be staged at LaBahn.
The three U.S. games in the preliminary round will be available live on ESPN+ and aired on NHL Network the following day at 12 noon ET.
Final broadcast details of the playoff round will be made official at a later date, but all U.S. games will air live either on NHL Network or ESPN+.
In addition, HockeyTV.com will have broadcasts of all games from the tournament, however, games will be blacked out where broadcast rights exist.
