GAMEDAY: Team USA Opens 2022-23 Rivalry Series in Kelowna

KELOWNA, B.C. – Team USA opens the first game of the 2022-23 Rivalry Series tonight against Canada at Prospera Place in Kelowna, B.C. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. PT (10 p.m. ET) and the game can be viewed live on NHL Network. 


Today's matchup against Canada marks the opening game of the 2022-23 Rivalry Series. The seven-game series features three games in November, in Kelowna (Nov. 15), Kamloops (Nov. 17) and Seattle (Nov. 20). It marks the first time the U.S. and Canada are facing off since the gold medal game of the 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship. 


Tonight marks the first time since November 23, 2021 that the U.S. is playing on Canadian soil, when the U.S. topped Canada 2-0 in Ottawa, Ontario in the fourth game of the My Why Tour, the U.S.' pre-Olympic tour. 


Tonight marks the first Rivalry Series game since February 8, 2020, the final game of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series. Team USA topped Canada, 4-3 in overtime in front of a record-breaking crowd of 13,320 fans at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.  


Riley Brengman (China Township, Mich.), Becca Gilmore (Wayland, Mass.), Kelsey King (Elk River, Minn.), Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.), Gabby Rosenthal (Blaine, Minn.) and Haley Winn (Rochester, N.Y.) will all make their U.S. Women's National Team debut during tonight's game.
