ÖSTERSUND, Sweden – The 2023 U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team continues preliminary-round play at the IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship on Monday, facing off against Finland.  

Puck drop is set for 10 a.m. ET and can be viewed live on NHL Network. 

TODAY'S MATCHUP

Today's meeting marks the second preliminary-round game for Team USA at the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship. The team currently sits at 1-0-0-0 in the tournament, with a plus three goal differential, having beaten Sweden in the first prelim game on Sunday. 

LAST TIME OUT

Team USA opened the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship with a 6-3 victory over host-country Sweden. Heading into the third period knotted at 2-2, the U.S. scored two-unanswered goals, including the game-winner by Lucia DiGirolamo to take a lead it would not relinquish. Maggie Scannell (1G, 1A) was named player of the game, while AnneliesBergmann made 29 saves in net.

The U.S. holds a 4-0-0-0 record all time against Finland at the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship and is just the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams at the event. The U.S. has outscored Finland, 21-2 at U18 WWC competition.
