BLAINE, Minn. – USA Hockey named the 25 players selected to represent the U.S. at the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship from April 5-16 in Brampton, Ontario. The team includes 14 forwards, eight defenders and three goaltenders. 

A total of 17 players return from the 2022 U.S. Women’s National Team that took home silver in August at the 2022 Women’s World Championship, including Cayla Barnes (Eastvale, Calif.), Hannah Bilka (Coppell, Texas), Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), Lacey Eden (Annapolis, Md.), Aerin Frankel (Chappaqua, N.Y.), Rory Guilday (Chanhassen, Minn.), Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove, Ill.), Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H.), Taylor Heise (Lake City, Minn.), Nicole Hensley (Lakewood, Colo.), Megan Keller (Farmington Hills, Mich.), Amanda Kessel (Madison, Wis.), Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho), Kelly Pannek (Plymouth, Minn.), Abby Roque (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.), Hayley Scamurra (Getzville, N.Y.) and Lee Stecklein (Roseville, Minn.). 

“We had an incredibly competitive week,” said Katie Million, director of women’s national team programs for USA Hockey, referring to the week-long U.S. evaluation camp that ended yesterday. “Choosing a team is never easy, but these 25 players earned the right to represent our country at the world championship.”

“We’re excited with the team we’ve selected,” John Wroblewski, head coach of the 2023 U.S. Women’s National Team, said. “We have a combination of youth, experience, skill and depth and we’re looking forward to the chance to bring a gold medal back to the United States.”

USA Hockey also announced the full staff for the 2023 U.S. Women’s National Team, including general manger Katie Million (Hannibal, N.Y.), head coach John Wroblewski (Neenah, Wis.), assistant coaches Josh Sciba (Westland, Mich.), Shari Dickerman (Richmond, Minn.), Brent Hill (Hamden, Conn.) and goaltending coach Alli Altmann (Eagan, Minn.). 

The staff also includes hockey operations manager Nick Bryant (Livonia, Mich.), video coach Alex Dawes (Utica, N.Y.), strength and conditioning coaches Cal Dietz (Hudson, Wis.) and Natalie Gallamore, team physician Dr. Ally Howe (Portland, Maine), athletic trainers Katie Homan (Coldwater, Ohio) and Stef Arndt (Delafield, Wis.), massage therapist Jennifer Chee (Colorado Springs, Colo.), sports dietician Carrie Aprik (Royal Oak, Mich.), equipment managers Sis Paulsen (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Jeff Mobley (St. Louis, Mo.), communications manager Melissa Katz (South Brunswick, N.J.) and digital content manager Justin Felisko (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
