Team USA Opens Tournament Play Against Latvia

Puck drop set for 4:00 p.m. in Switzerland, 10:00 a.m. ET; game broadcasted on NHL Network

BASEL, Switzerland - The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team will face Latvia today in its opening preliminary-round contest of the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship with puck drop set for 4:00 p.m. (10:00 a.m. ET) at St. Jakob Arena.

Today's game, and all Team USA games throughout the tournament, will be aired live on NHL Network. 

Team USA enters the round-robin portion of its schedule after topping Czechia in its lone pre-tournament action, 9-2, on Monday evening. 

Forward Gabe Perreault (Hinsdale, Ill.), the leading scorer on the team and the NTDP's eighth all-time leading scorer, netted two goals and added two assists to pace the offensive attack. Defenseman Cole Hutson (Barrington, Ill.) and forwards Will Smith (Lexington, Mass.) and Carey Terrance (Akwesasne, N.Y.) all pitched in three points apiece for Team USA.

Netminder Trey Augustine (South Lyon, Mich.) was perfect in his 40 minutes of action, turning aside all 20 shots that he saw.
