Tyler Kleven added to 2023 U.S. Men’s National Team Roster

Will arrive in Tampere tomorrow

TAMPERE, Finland – Defenseman Tyler Kleven (Fargo, N.D.), who signed with the Ottawa Senators and played eight games after his 2022-23 collegiate season at the University of North Dakota, has been added to the roster of the U.S. Men’s National Team, it was announced today by USA Hockey.

Team USA, currently 2-0, is playing in the 2023 IIHF Men’s World Championship. The U.S. will face Germany tomorrow (May 15) at 4:20 p.m. local time/9:20 a.m. ET in its third of seven preliminary round contests and the game can be seen live on NHL Network.

Kleven played three seasons (2020-23) at the University of North Dakota after spending two campaigns at USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (2018-20).

The Fargo, North Dakota, native is making his first appearance in an IIHF Men’s World Championship, but has played twice in the IIHF World Junior Championship both in 2020 and 2021, when he helped Team USA win a gold medal.

Kleven is expected to arrive here in Tampere tomorrow.
