TEMPE, ARIZONA – The first game of the 2023-24 Rivalry Series kicks off tonight, as the U.S. Women’s National Team faces Canada at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Today's game marks the opening game of the 2023-24 Rivalry Series between the U.S. Women's National Team and Canada. The two teams will meet seven times throughout the winter, with three contests in the U.S. and four in Canada. The game marks the first contest for Team USA since the 2023 IIHF Women's World Championship back in April.
Started during the 2018-19 season by USA Hockey and Hockey Canada, the Rivalry Series enters its fourth season (2018-19, 2019-20, 2022-23), with the U.S. holding an all-time record of 6-2-2-5 (W-OTW-OTL-L).
The U.S. enters the 2023-24 Rivalry Series as defending world champions, having won the 2023 IIHF Women's World Championship back in April. Team USA topped Canada, 6-3, in the gold medal game to take home the title.
Today's game marks the first time the U.S. Women's National Team has played a game in the state of Arizona. The first two games of the series are slated for warm-weather climates with both Tempe, Ariz. and Los Angeles, Calif. hosting games.
