QUISPAMSIS, N.B. – The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will take on China here today in its second preliminary round game of the 2023 Para Hockey Cup. Puck drop is set for 10:30 a.m. ET at the Qplex, and the game will be streamed live here.
Team USA won its first preliminary round game yesterday (Dec. 2) against Czechia, 3-0. Jen Lee (San Francisco, Calif.) was named U.S. Player of the Game after recording a shutout and tallying an assist. China dropped its first preliminary round game of the tournament yesterday to Canada 4-1.
Team USA enters the Para Hockey Cup with a 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record on the season after winning the IPH Cup in Ostrava, Czechia, in October. The U.S. has won a record nine Para Hockey Cups all-time, including seven consecutive tournament titles.
These two teams have faced off in just two contests all-time, with the U.S. holding a record of 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L). They most recently faced off in the Para Ice Hockey World Championship semifinals, which the U.S. won 10-2.
