GAME DAY: U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team Facing Off Against Canada in Game Two of 2024 Sled Series

MINOT, N.D. -- The U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team will face off againstCanada here today in game two of the 2024 Sled Series at the MAYSA Arena. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m. ET. The game will be live streamed for free on USAHockeyTV.com

Team USA won the series opener 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon to move to 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) on the season. Catherine Faherty (Norwell, Mass.) recorded three points (1g, 2a), while Kelsey DiClaudio (Plum, Penn.) and Lera Doederlein (San Diego, Calif.) each tallied a goal in the win. 

The 2024 Sled Series marks the first time ever that the U.S. Women’s Development Team will compete alongside the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team at an international event. The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team is set to play Canada tonight at 7:00 pm. ET, and the game will be live streamed for free on USAHockeyTV.com.

The U.S. enters this contest with an unbeaten 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record on the season after taking home the title at the 2023 Women’s World Challenge in Green Bay, Wis., in September. The U.S. beat Canada twice, including a 2-0 win in the championship game, to earn its second-consecutive championship. 

Since the inaugural Women’s World Challenge in 2022, these teams have met five times, with Team USA holding a 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record.
