U.S. National Sled Team Beats Canada 4-1 in Final Game of April Sled Series

Team USA moves to 15-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) on the season

CALGARY, Alberta – Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) had a goal and an assist and was one of four different players to score for the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team here tonight in a 4-1 victory over Canada at the WinSport Arena in the second and final game of the 2024 April Sled Series

“We had great energy today,” said David Hoff, head coach of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. “We faced some adversity at times and they made it hard on us. I liked our response in those tough situations.”

At the 5:41 mark of the opening frame, Misiewicz forced a turnover behind Canada’s net and found Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) in the slot, who rifled a shot into the top left corner to put Team USA up 1-0. 

Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) added to the tally 4:30 into the middle stanza after he capitalized off a wrister from the slot. 

Canada’s Liam Hickey scored just over a minute later to bring the score within one. 


With 2:07 remaining in the second, Evan Nichols (Haymarket, Va.) corralled the puck from a scrum out in front and slid it past Canadian goaltender Adam Kingsmill to put Team USA up 3-1.

Misiewicz notched an empty net goal with 1:06 remaining in the contest to account for the 4-1 final.

Jen Lee (San Francisco, Calif.) stopped 15 shots in a full 45 minutes of action.

NOTES: Team USA was 0-2 on the power play, while Canada was 0-1 … The U.S. outshot Canada 20-16.
