GAME DAY | U.S. Takes on Czechia in Sled Worlds Semifinals

CALGARY, Alberta – The U.S. National Sled Team will take on Czechia here today in the semifinal round of the 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Championship at WinSport Arena.

Team USA wrapped up preliminary round play as the top seed in Group A, finishing with a 3-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record and outscoring its opponents a combined 31-0 after beating China 10-0 on Tuesday. Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) collected seven points, including his third-consecutive hat trick, while captain Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.) tallied four points (1g, 3a) in his 200th career game.

Czechia enters this game with a 2-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record, finishing second in Group B through preliminary-round play. 

Team USA holds an unbeaten. 18-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record on the season entering this game, The U.S. and Czechia have faced off four times this season, with Team USA winning all four contests. 

The U.S. is 7-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) all-time in the World Para Ice Hockey Championship semifinals, and 13-0-1-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) all-time against Czechia across all-contests.
