SALT LAKE CITY – The U.S. Women’s National Team looks to jump out to a 2-0 series lead as game two of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series, presented by Discover is set for Friday (Nov. 8) at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. MT and can be viewed on NHL Network.

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

Today's game marks the second game of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series, presented by Discover, and the middle game of a stretch that sees the U.S. and Canada meet for three games in a five-day period.

IN THE RIVALRY SERIES...

Started during the 2018-19 season by USA Hockey and Hockey Canada, the Rivalry Series is in its fifth season (2018-19, 2019-20, 2022-23, 2023-24), with the U.S. holding an all-time record of 9-3-3-7 (W-OTW-OTL-L) and a record of 5-1-0-0 in series games played in November.

LUCKY SEVEN

The U.S. tallied seven goals in Wednesday's 7-2 victory over Canada. It marks the highest scoring output against Canada since the gold medal game of the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship, where Team USA topped Canada, 7-5 and is the largest margin of victory over Canada since April 7, 2012, when the U.S. beat Canada, 9-2, in the opening game of the 2012 IIHF Women's World Championship.

RIVALRY SERIES LEADERS

Abbey Murphy, Alex Carpenter, Tessa Janecke, Laila Edwards, Lacey Eden and Megan Keller lead all Team USA skaters in the Rivalry Series with two points each. Murphy and Eden lead all players with two goals each.

OLYMPIC HISTORY AT MAVERIK CENTER

The Maverik Center was one of the arenas used for ice hockey competition during the 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Known as the E Center back in 2002, the building hosted the women's hockey gold medal game between the U.S. and Canada on February 21, 2002, in front of 8,599 fans.
