COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced the 25 players set to represent the U.S. at the 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship in České Budějovice, Czechia, from April 9-20.
Of the 25 players, all but two have played in an IIHF Women’s World Championship previously, including 14-time Women’s World Championship medalist Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho/Boston Fleet), whose 14 medals mark the most in IIHF world championship history.
Alongside Knight, Cayla Barnes (Eastvale, Calif./Montreal Victoire), Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass./New York Sirens), Jesse Compher (Northbrook, Ill./Toronto Sceptres), Kendall Coyne Schofield (Palos Heights, Ill./Minnesota Frost), Britta Curl-Salemme (Bismarck, N.D./Minnesota Frost), Joy Dunne (O’Fallon, Mo./Ohio State University), Lacey Eden (Annapolis, Md./University of Wisconsin), Laila Edwards (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/University of Wisconsin), Aerin Frankel (Chappaqua, N.Y./Boston Fleet), Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove, Ill./Toronto Sceptres), Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H./University of Wisconsin), Taylor Heise (Lake City, Minn./Minnesota Frost), Tessa Janecke (Orangeville, Ill./Penn State University), Megan Keller (Farmington Hills, Mich./Boston Fleet), Abbey Murphy (Evergreen Park, Ill./University of Minnesota), Kelly Pannek (Plymouth, Minn./Minnesota Frost), Gwyneth Philips (Athens, Ohio/Ottawa Charge), Hayley Scamurra (Getzville, N.Y./Toronto Sceptres), Kirsten Simms (Plymouth, Mich./University of Wisconsin), Lee Stecklein (Roseville, Minn./Minnesota Frost), Haley Winn (Rochester, N.Y./Clarkson University) and Grace Zumwinkle (Excelsior, Minn./Minnesota Frost) will return to the IIHF stage.
Newcomers Ava McNaughton (Seven Fields, Pa./University of Wisconsin) and Anna Wilgren (Hudson, Wis./Montreal Victoire) will be making their IIHF Women’s World Championship debut. McNaughton most recently a member of the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team, while Wilgren skated in the 2024-25 Rivalry Series.
“The 25 players selected to represent the U.S. bring skill, talent and passion on the ice,” said Katie Million (Hannibal, N.Y.), general manager of the 2025 U.S. Women’s National Team and director of women’s national team programs for USA Hockey. “The depth of our player pool never makes these decisions easy, but we’re excited to shift our focus on bringing a gold home from Czechia.”
“The team we’ve selected brings a level of excitement and skill to the ice,” said John Wroblewski (Neenah, Wis.), head coach of the 2025 U.S. Women’s National Team. “We’re confident in this group and excited to head to České Budějovice.”
