Team USA enters the tournament with a 13-1-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record on the season, including winning the 2024 IPH Cup in Ostrava, Czechia, in October, as well as the 2024 Para Hockey Cup in Charlottetown, P.E.I., in December. The U.S. also went 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) vs. Canada at the 2025 Reeve Hockey Classic in Saugus, Mass., in February, and 2-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in the 2025 Sled Series vs. Canada in Thorold, Ontario, in March.
All-time, the U.S. holds a 48-3-1-16 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record in world championship play, including 11 podium finishes and a record six gold medals. Most recently, Team USA took home silver at the 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Championship in Calgary, Alberta.
These two teams have faced off nine previous times on the world championship stage, with the U.S. holding a slight edge with a 5-0-0-4 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record vs. Norway all-time at Sled Worlds, including five consecutive victories. The most recent world championship matchup between these two squads took place in 2019, where the U.S. won 10-0 in the preliminary round.
