OSTRAVA, Czechia – Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) became the first player in U.S. National Sled Team history to reach 400 career points (229g, 171a) with a four goal, three assist performance to lead the U.S. National Sled Team to an 8-2 victory over China here today (Oct. 25) at the 2025 IPH Cup at Ostravar Arena.

“I thought we got off to a slow start and our puck management wasn’t great, but we settled down well,” said David Hoff, head coach of the U.S. National Sled Team. “We played strong in the last 35 minutes or so, and did what we had to do to get to the championship game.”
China opened the scoring 4:07 into the contest when Dianpeng Qiu capitalized on a breakaway opportunity.
With 3:06 remaining in the first, Team USA leveled the score with a power play tally from Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) off a wrist shot from the right circle. Malik Jones (Aurora, Colo.) and Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) notched assists on the play.

With 1:19 to play in the first, Farmer made it a 3-1 game, weaving past multiple Chinese defenders from the neutral zone to just outside the crease, capitalizing with a deke.
Team USA opened the second period on the man advantage, and 26 seconds into the middle frame, Travis Dodson (Deming, N.M.) won a race to the puck off a dump-in from Farmer and buried a breakaway opportunity to put the U.S. up 4-1.
Just 24 seconds later, Farmer redirected a pass from Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes. N.J.) past Wang to complete a hat trick.
With 3:06 remaining in the middle stanza, Misiewicz rifled home his second tally of the game from the right circle off a feed from Farmer to make it 6-1.
At the 1:20 mark of the third, Farmer collected a pass from Evan Nichols (Haymarket, Va.) below the right faceoff circle and slid it short side to notch his fourth goal of the game.
While on the penalty kill, Farmer forced an offensive-zone turnover and found Nichols in the slot, who beat Wang with a deke to his right to give Team USA an 8-1 lead. The assist was Farmer’s historic 400th career point.
