GAME DAY: Team USA Looks On To Czechia At U18 Women’s Worlds

MEMBERTOU, Nova Scotia – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team continues its campaign at the 2026 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship on Sunday (Jan. 11), facing Czechia in its second preliminary round game of the tournament.

Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. ET and can be viewed on NHL Network.

TODAY’S MATCHUP

Today’s game marks Team USA’s second of three preliminary round games at the Under-18 Women’s World Championship. The team enters the contest with a 1-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record after topping Slovakia 13-0 on Saturday.

AGAINST CZECHIA

Today marks the 14th all-time meeting between the two teams in Under-18 Women’s Worlds play. Team USA holds a commanding 13-0-0-0 advantage and has outscored the Czechs, 121-4, in those games. The two teams met on Jan. 7 in Halifax for a pre-tournament game, with the U.S. winning, 4-2.

STICKNEY BREAKS SHUTOUT RECORD

Goaltender Morgan Stickney (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) recorded five saves in Saturday’s shutout victory over Slovakia, marking her fourth career shutout at an Under-18 Women’s World Championship, setting a new IIHF all-time record for shutouts at the tournament.

AMELKOVICH TALLIES SIX HELPERS

Forward Kylie Amelkovich (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) recorded six assists in Saturday’s victory, setting a new IIHF single-game record for assist at the tournament and tying the single-game record for points at the tournament as well.
