History: The United States faces defending champion Finland at Bell Centre (capacity: 21,287) to open Group A play at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship. The U.S. not faced Finland in the IIHF World Junior Championship since the 2012 preliminary round (4-1 Finland victory).

Series vs Finland: Finland leads the all-time series by a count of 11-2-0-16-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T). Team USA has won four of the last five meetings dating back to 2007. Finland won the most recent game, 4-1, in the preliminary round of the 2012 tournament. The U.S. gained a 9-1 win over Finland this past August in its annual National Junior Team Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, New York. Tyler Motte had 3-1--4 to lead the way, while Jack Eichel 1-4--5 and Alex Tuch 1-2--3.
