Each month, the United States Olympic Committee celebrates the outstanding achievements of Team USA athletes through the Team USA Awards. The U.S. Women’s National Team won the 2015 Four Nations Cup last month in Sundsvall, Sweden and is now being recognized by the USOC as a nominee for the Best Team of November. Team USA won the Four Nations Cup with a 3-2 overtime victory over rival Canada in the championship game. Team USA trailed 2-1 going into the third period but prevailed in a hard-fought final period and extra frame.
The U.S. went undefeated in the tournament and outscored their opponents 19-4. Leading up to the final game, Team USA defeated Sweden, 6-2, Finland, 7-0, and Canada twice, 3-0 and 3-2 respectively. The United States has now captured the title six times (1997, 2003, 2008, 2011-12, 2015).
Kelli Stack was named the tournament's Best Forward and Monique Lamoureux was named Best Defensemean. Stack was the tournament's leading scorer with eight points and six assists. Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson registered the most goals with four and Monique Lamoureux led all defensemen with six points (2-4).
