Sled Hockey Training Camp Set For This Weekend

National, Developmental Sled Hockey Teams To Train in North Carolina

The 2015-16 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will train this weekend (Feb. 18-20) at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, North Carolina. Team USA will be joined by the U.S. National Developmental Sled Hockey Team for the duration of camp.

Both teams will conduct practices on Thursday (Feb. 18) and Friday (Feb. 19). Additionally, the two teams will face off Friday at 3 p.m. ET and again Saturday (Feb. 20) at 4 p.m ET. All practices and games are open to the public.

The training camp will be Team USA's first time together since claiming the 2016 World Sled Hockey Challenge in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, on Jan. 24 with a 3-2 overtime victory over Canada. The camp will also be the developmental team's final preparation for its three-game series versus Canada in Indian Trail, North Carolina, March 15-20.

NOTES: Dan Brennan (Colorado Springs, Colo.), director of the sled and inline national teams for USA Hockey, is serving as the general manager of the 2015-16 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team ... Jeff Sauer (Madison, Wis.) is in his fifth year as head coach of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. Under his direction, Team USA went undefeated last season with a 12-1-0-0 record (W-OTW-OTL-L) while claiming the 2015 International Paralympic Committee Ice Sled Hockey World Championship in Buffalo, New York ...
