ST. PETERSBURG -- Team USA opens play in the 80th annual IIHF Men's World Championship here today at 4:15 p.m. (9:15 a.m. ET) against Canada. The game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network in the U.S.
Keith Kincaid is expected to get the start in goal. He spent the 2015-16 season with the New Jersey Devils and is making his first-ever start in for a U.S. national team.
The U.S. and Canada last met in the IIHF Men's World Championship in 2012 in Helsinki. Jack Johnson scored in overtime to lift the U.S. to a 5-4 victory.
