Big-Time Goalie Matchup: Monday’s first game saw the top two-goalies at the camp so far squaring off in the second half. White’s Jack Faulkner (Omaha, Neb.) had not allowed a goal coming into the game, while Kelly’s Drew DeRidder (Fenton, Mich.) had allowed just one goal in the 31 shots he had faced. DeRidder took the upper hand in Monday’s game stopping all 13 shots he saw to give Kelly a 3-1 victory over White. However, Faulkner did not disappoint either stopping 14 of the 15 shots he saw in his 25 minutes of action.

Top Teams Face-off: The day’s second game saw Orange and Columbia squaring off in a matchup of teams that sat atop their divisions to start the day. Orange had won each of their first two matchups by four goals each and came out victorious again, 4-1. Sean McAvoy (Charlotte, N.C.) led the way for Orange with two points (1G, 1A). Isaiah Saville (Anchorage, Alaska) and Josh Graziano (Williamsville, N.Y.) combined to make 45 saves on 46 shots. Saville stopped all 25 shots he saw in the second half to keep Columbia from storming back. Orange now has a +11 goal differential through three games in the tournament.

Third Times Not the Charm: Red found itself in its third shootout in as many days today against Forest. However, unlike the previous two days they were unable to pull out the victory and fell to Forest 3-2. Kevin Wall (Fairport, N.Y.) provided the shoot-out winner for Forest.

On the Board: After disappointing performances in their first two games, Black used a strong effort to get on the board with a 4-1 victory over Gray. Drew Esler (Hopewell Junction, N.Y., 1G, 1A), Jace Foskey (Southlake, Tex., 2A), Bryan Lockner (Windsor, Col., 2G) and TJ Walsh (Shrewsbury, Mass., 1G, 1A) each provided two points for Black.

Goalie Domination: In five games played today, seven different goalies produced clean sheets during their twenty-five minutes of action. Drew DeRidder (Fenton, Mich, 13 saves), Isaiah Saville (Anchorage, Alaska, 25 saves), Wesley Mankowski (Sylvania, Ohio, 10 saves), Connor Hopkins (Malden, Mass., 9 saves), Darius Bell (Miami, Fla., 14 saves), Matthew Pasquale (North Reading, Mass., 11 saves) and Todd Scott (Albertville, Minn., 21 saves) each had blemish free records on the day.
