Girls 15 PDC - Day 3 Recap

In Saturday's action at the USA Hockey Girls 15 Player Development Camp, Team Black scored a 3-1 victory over Team Vegas.  After a scoreless first period, Black’s Olivia Mobley, Cassidy Piersiak and Carmen Merlo all scored goals to clinch the victory.  Makayla Pahl and Melissa Strauss combined to make 37 saves in the game for Team Black.

In game two, Team Pink posted a 5-1 victory over Team Royal.  Team Pink’s Rachel Goff scored two goals in the game, while teammates Cecelia Ziegler, Jessica Schryver and Emily Cataldo also found the twine.  Caroline King added two assists in the game for Pink.  Catherine Appleyard scored Royal’s lone goal.

Team Gold goalies Ava Bailey and Jane Filmonchik combined for 33 saves in a 4-0 shutout win over Team White.  Team Gold goals were scored by Mary Leys, Bryn Saarela, Megan Whitlatch and Olivia Garrity.

In an exciting overtime decision, Team Teal scored a 2-1 win over Team Red.  Kaitlyn O’Donohue scored the game-winning goal at 1:03 of the extra session.  She also had her team’s first goal of the game at 6:42 of the first period.  Casey O’Brien scored Team Red's lone goal.

Team Gray posted a 4-2 victory over Light Blue.   Gray trailed 2-1 before Emily Herdine, Caroline O’Keefe and Brooke Ersoy scored three unanswered goals to ice the victory for Gray.

In the final game of the day, Team Green chalked up a 4-2 win over Team Orange.  Sydney Shearen opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal for Green.  Orange’s Lisa McNamara tied the game early in the second period before Green took command with goals by Saige Biddle and Hayley Parrish.  Orange closed the gap to 3-2 with a goal by Mallory Uihlein in the final minutes of the second period.  In the closing seconds of play, Green’s Chayla Edward added an empty-net goal to make the final 4-2.
