Erik Foley (Mansfield, Mass.) tallied two points and eight other players registered a point as the United States defeated Sweden, 4-3, here tonight at the 2016 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Sweden opened the scoring just 1:06 into the game when a shot from Jens Looke trickled past Joseph Woll (St. Louis, Mo.). Sebastian Ohlsson extended Sweden’s lead to 2-0 at the 7:31 mark before Looke tallied his second of the period with 1:58 remaining to give Sweden a 3-0 lead before the first intermission.

The United States tallied three-straight times to even the score, 3-3 in the middle stanza. Troy Terry (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was the first to get the U.S. on the board when he finished a passing play from Kieffer Bellows (Edina, Minn.) and Clayton Keller (Swansea, Ill.).

With 6:11 remaining in the period, Erik Foley redirected a pass from Jack Roslovic (Columbus, Ohio) to cut Sweden’s lead to one. Less than a minute later, Jordan Greenway (Potsdam, N.Y.) tied the score, 3-3, when he collected a pass from Jeremy Bracco (Freeport, N.Y.), spun around and scored.

Logan Brown (St. Louis, Mo.) scored the game-winning goal with 4:27 remaining in the game when he tapped in a centering feed from Alex DeBrincat (Farmington Hills, Mich.). The play started when Foley found DeBrincat with a pass as he entered Sweden's zone, skated down the right the right wall and found Brown alone in front for the decisive goal.

Canada opened the scoring with 5:07 remaining in the first period when Travis Konecny collected a pass from Tyson Jost, skated down the right wall and fired a wrist shot over the right pad of Finnish goaltender Veini Vehvillainen. 

After a scoreless middle period, Finland evened the score with 7:19 left in the third period with Ruotsalainen collecting an assist on the game-tying goal.

Just 1:22 into the extra frame, Ruotsalainen snuck a puck past Cormier for the game-winning tally. Vehvillainen made 34 saves in the victory.
