Eichel Added to 2017 U.S. Men's National Team

Roster Now Includes 19 Players

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Forward Jack Eichel (North Chelmsford, Mass./Buffalo Sabres) has been added to the roster of the U.S. Men’s National Team that will compete at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship May 5-21 in Cologne, Germany, and Paris, France.

Eichel will be playing on his second U.S. Men’s National Team and representing Team USA for the sixth time in his career. He previously helped the U.S. Men’s National Team earn a bronze medal at the 2015 IIHF Men’s World Championship in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic, by totaling seven points (2-5) in 10 games. Eichel also won a gold medal as part of the 2014 U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team in the IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship in Lappeenranta and Imatra, Finland, and a silver medal in the same event in 2013 in Sochi, Russia. He was also a member of the 2014 and 2015 U.S. National Junior Teams. 

The North Chelmsford, Mass., native just completed his second season with the Buffalo Sabres, where he amassed a career-high 57 points (24-33) in 61 games. In his two NHL seasons, Eichel has tallied 113 points (48-65) in 142 contests. 

Before joining Buffalo, Eichel skated one season (2014-15) for Boston University, where he led the nation with 71 points (26-45) and became the second freshman to win the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. He also earned First-Team All-America and Hockey East Player of the Year honors. 

The U.S. Men’s National Team now includes 11 forwards, five defensemen and three goaltenders.
