Nathan Bryant (Marilla, N.Y.) scored twice and Jen Lee (San Antonio, Texas) stopped all four shots he faced as the U.S. Development Sled Hockey Team shut out Canada, 6-0, at the Defi Sportif AlterGo event in Montreal.
Josh Hargis (Colorado Springs, Colo.) opened the scoring for Team USA when he connected on the power play just 1:19 into the game. Bryant then doubled the U.S. lead 4:31 later when he beat Canadian goaltender Adam Kingsmill. Ralph De Quebec (San Pedro, Calif.) then scored off an assist by Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) with 1:58 remaining in the opening period to account for the 3-0 U.S. lead.
In the second stanza, Robert Easley (Niceville, Fla.) tallied to make it 4-0 with Colin Gooley (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) registering an assist.
David Eustace (Stoneham, Mass.) and Bryant then connected within the first 3:15 of the final frame to account for the 6-0 final.
The U.S. Development Sled Hockey Team returns to action tomorrow when it faces Canada at 7 p.m. ET at Howie-Morenz Arena in Montreal.
