MONTREAL -- Colin Gooley (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal and Kyle Huckaby (Port Arthor, Texas) stopped all four shots he faced as the U.S. Development Sled Hockey Team shut out Canada, 3-0, at the Defi Sportif AlterGo event in Montreal.
With the win, the U.S. Development Sled Hockey Team claimed its third-straight shutout win to sweep the three-game series vs. Canada after winning the first game (6-0) on Friday before claiming a 7-0 victory yesterday.
Gooley scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal 8:31 into the first period when he finished a pass from Christian Storms (Jamestown, N.Y.).
After a scoreless second stanza, David Eustace (Stoneham, Mass.) tallied just :37 into the third frame for his fourth goal in three games. Kyle Zych (South Hadley, Mass.) then connected with 2:11 to play off assists from Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) and Ralph De Quebec (San Pedro, Calif.) to account for the 3-0 final.
