The third day of games at USA Hockey’s Girls U-18 Select Player Development Camp featured two early contests.

In the opener, Team White took on Team Gold. Gold was looking for its first win of the camp and jumped to a 2-0 lead in the second period. Defenseman Jillian Fey (Massachusetts) tallied the first Gold goal with an assist from Adelaide Burton (Minnesota) at the 3:13 mark of the second period. Just under two minutes later, at 5:05, Sydney Bard (New York) picked up the eventual game-winner with linemates Danielle Hartje (Michigan) and Makenna Webster (Central) each registering an assist on the play. Team White cut Gold’s lead to 2-1 when Lily Delianedis (Minnesota) recorded the lone White goal. She was assisted by Haylee Blinkhorn (Minnesota) and Taylor Heise (Minnesota).

The 12:15 p.m. game matched Team Red and undefeated Team Blue, which jumped out to a lead when Kaitlyn Kaufman (Minnesota) tallied a power play goal after collecting Hadley Hartmetz’s (Atlantic) rebound from the point. Mariah Keopple (Central) also added an assist on the tally.

Team Red responded with a goal from Sydney Shearan (Minnesota) less than a minute later. Dominique Petrie (Pacific) and Kelly Browne (Massachusetts) added goals as Team Red assumed a 2-1 lead in the first period. Red continued the scoring in the middle period with two more goals from Petrie, completing her hat trick. Katherine Tresca (Massachusetts) finished the scoring for Red, making it a 6-2 final with an assist from Mallory Uihlien (Minnesota).

Today will feature the final two games of camp at the Harold Alfond Forum. The first game will match Red and Blue in the championship game. White and Gold will face off in the second game of the morning to close the camp festivities.
