U.S. Under-17 Men's Select Team faces off against Switzerland tomorrow

The United States Under-17 Men’s Select Team is comprised of top-level players chosen from USA Hockey’s Boys Select 16 Player Development Camp. The team has competed annually in the Five Nations Tournament since 2000, winning the event seven times (2016, 2015, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2008).

With 12 states represented on the 2017 Team USA roster, it serves as the most geographically diverse squad in the last five years. Previous iterations of the U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select Team with players from 12 different states included the 2009, 2011 and 2012 teams, two of which won the tournament championship (2011 and 2012).

Of the 20-player roster, 10 different colleges are represented through 12 verbal commitments. In addition, there are 18 players who have been either drafted or tendered by USHL teams.

Team USA will open Five Nations Tournament play Thursday against Switzerland at 3 p.m. local time/9 a.m. ET in Ostrava, Czech Republic. That game, and all U.S. games during the Five Nations Tournament, will be live streamed at hokejkatv.cz.
