Excitement Building for U18 and U22 Series vs. Canada

Players share their thoughts on heading to Calgary

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The 2018 U.S. Under-18 and Under-22 Women's Select Teams travel to Calgary today (Aug. 14) ahead of this weekend's U18 and U22 Series vs. Canada, to be held Aug. 16-19 at the Markin MacPhail Center in Calgary, Alberta. Before making the trip, players shared their thoughts on the upcoming Series and what it means to be chosen to represent the red, white and blue. 

“I am very grateful to have the chance to represent our country in a sport that means so much to me... we get to put it all out on the line against some of the best competition in Calgary this upcoming week.” – Sydney Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.) U-18 Women's Select Team

“Being able to put on the USA jersey and represent your country is a feeling like no other. Our team is prepared and excited to face our biggest rival in Calgary this week.” – Hadley Hartmetz (Phoenixville, Pa.) U-18 Women's Select Team

“It’s always a privilege getting to wear the USA jersey. I get the chills every time I put it on. I am excited to be a part of this team and compete against some of my former team and linemates from Boston College.” – Caitrin Lonergan (Roslindale, Mass.) U-22 Women's Select Team

“Being able to put on the USA jersey again this summer is something that I’m super excited and honored to do. We all are looking forward to traveling as a team and using it to get closer.
