U.S. Women's Nat'l Team Up for November's Team USA Awards

U.S. claimed its fourth straight Four Nations Cup title in Saskatoon

The United States Olympic Committee announced today that the U.S. Women's National Team has been named Best of November finalists for the Team USA Awards, which recognize the outstanding achievements of Team USA athletes from last month. Fans are invited to vote for their favorite athletes and teams at TeamUSA.org/Awards through midnight Tuesday (Dec. 4).

The U.S. Women’s National Team claimed its fourth-consecutive Four Nations Cup title after having won four games in five days at the tournament Nov. 6-10 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

First, the U.S. defeated Finland, 5-1, in its opening game of the tournament. Eleven members of Team USA contributed points in the victory, highlighted by Sydney Brodt (North Oaks, Minn.), Dani Cameranesi (Plymouth, Minn.), Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.) and Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho), who each registered two points apiece. Then, the U.S. came out on top of a hard-fought battle against Canada with a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Hannah Brandt (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) and the game-winner from Brodt with 1:38 remaining. In its third and final preliminary round game, the U.S. defeated Sweden, 5-1, with nine different members of Team USA recording points in the victory.

The U.S. finished its campaign with a 5-2 championship win over Canada to bring home its fourth straight title. Knight scored twice and 10 other U.S. skaters registered points to help the U.S. claim victory in Saskatoon on Nov. 10.
