Grand Forks, N.D. and Thief River Falls, Minn. | Dec. 26-Jan. 5

The United States hosted the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship for the fourth time when the 2005 event took place in Grand Forks and Thief River Falls, Minnesota. 

Team USA, captained by Ryan Suter, reached the medal round for the second consecutive tournament where they fell to the Czech Republic, 3-2, in overtime to finish in fourth place.
