The U.S. National Junior Team earned a 2-3-0 (W-L-T) record and finished in sixth place at the 1981 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Fussen and Augsburg, Germany.
Team USA was led by two future U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame members, Bob Carpenter (2007 inductee) and Mark Fusco (2002).
