About The World Junior A Challenge

The U.S. Junior Select Team, which competes in the World Junior A Challenge, is comprised of players that compete in junior hockey leagues across the U.S. 

Since the inaugural tournament in 2006, Team USA has captured eight tournament crowns (2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018) along with a single second-place finish and three third-place finishes. 

The 2018 Four Nations Cup took place Nov. 6-10, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Team USA won all four games it played to earn its fourth-straight championship at the event. The U.S., which topped Canada 5-2 in the title game, outscored its opponents 17-5 in four games.

The 2018 World Junior A Challenge took place Dec. 9-15, in Bonnyville, Alberta. Team USA won two of four preliminary round games, before defeating Canada West in the semifinal to advance to the championship game. The U.S., went on to top Russia, 2-0, in the title game to take home its fifth championship in the last seven years.
