Para Sled Hockey World Championship

About The Sled Hockey World Championship

First sanctioned in 1996, the Para Sled Hockey World Championship is an international event organized by World Para Ice Hockey.

Most recently, the United States earned a gold medal at the 2023 Para Sled Hockey World Championship in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Team USA has claimed six gold medals (2023, 2021, 2019, 2015, 2012, 2009) and is the only country to ever win back-to-back (2009, 2012) and three-consecutive gold medals (2019, 2021, 2023) in the event. Additionally, the U.S. has achieved three other medal finishes, earning three silver medals (2004, 2013,2017) and one bronze medal (2008).

The event has been held 12 times, including three times on U.S. soil (2000: Salt Lake City, Utah; 2008: Marlborough, Massachusetts; 2015: Buffalo, New York).
