The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team concluded its 2016 campaign at the International Paralympic Committee Sled Hockey Pan-Pacific Championship in Buffalo, New York. The tournament, which was held at HARBORCENTER from March 29-April 2, marked the first time Team USA returned to Buffalo since claiming the 2015 IPC Sled Hockey World Championship on May 3, 2015.
Four teams competed in the first-ever IPC Sled Hockey Pan-Pacic Championship: Canada, Korea, Team Pan-Pacific and the United States. Team Pan- Pacific was comprised of players from Canada, Japan and the United States. Tournament play included a round-robin preliminary round in which the top two teams advanced to a winner-take-all championship game on Saturday, April 2.
After claiming an 8-0 victory over Team Pan-Pacific to open the tournament, Team USA fell to Canada, 2-1, before closing preliminary round action with an 8-0 victory over Team Korea. In the championship game, the United States topped Canada, 4-1, with a two-goal performance from Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.).
