Kimber Auerbach - Communications

Bio

Kimber Auerbach, who is entering his 11th season with the New York Islanders organization and seventh as director of communications, will assist with communications for Team USA at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Auerbach oversees all communications for the Islanders and maintains a positive working relationship with all working press.  He serves as the primary contact for media looking to engage with ownership, hockey operations management, coaching staff and the players.

Prior to his current position, Auerbach was the communications manager for the Islanders. In this role, he assisted in player interviews and game note production, as well as game preview, game recap, feature story and media guide creation. He also started the team’s social media platforms and managed all team services at home and on the road. 

Before joining the Islanders, he was the director of media relations and game operations for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.  

Auerbach earned his Master’s in Journalism/Broadcast Journalism from Quinnipiac University in 2006.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Elmira College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. 

The Morristown, New Jersey native played ice hockey at Elmira College for four seasons.
