The 2016 U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team racked up three preliminary-round wins against Czech Republic (6-0), Russia (6-0) and Canada (4-1) to finish atop Group A and earn a quarterfinal bye. In the semifinal, the U.S. defeated the Sweden 4-0 to earn a match up with rival Canada in the gold-medal game.
The U.S. topped Canada, 3-2, in an exciting overtime victory to claim the gold medal, winning the event for the second year in a row. The United States finished the tournament 4-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L), outscoring opponents 23-3.
