The U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team has won the last two International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women's World Championships and this year's team will defend the title at the 2017 tournament, set for January 7-14 in Zlin and Prerov, Czech Republic.
The U.S. is set to play Russia (Jan. 7), Sweden (Jan. 8) and Canada (Jan. 10) in the preliminary round.
Team USA is 37-4-2-2 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in 45 career games at this event and has played in the gold medal game in all nine of the previous events, capturing the event's top prize now a total of five times (2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016).
