The United States captured its third gold medal and third medal in four years at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia.
Team USA, captained by Jake McCabe, saw a U.S.-record four players named to the Media All-Star team, including goaltender John Gibson, defensemen Jake McCabe and Jacob Trouba, and forward Johnny Gaudreau. Gibson became the second American player ever to be named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
