The 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship is scheduled for August 9-20, 2022 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. 

The U.S. will compete in Group B alongside Austria, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland. Canada, Czechia, Finland, Latvia and Slovakia make up Group A.

Originally, the tournament was scheduled for Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta, from Dec. 26- Jan. 5, 2022. On Dec. 29, the IIHF Council decided that, due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant, the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship would be cancelled to ensure the health and safety of all participants. Read the full IIHF statement here

Most recently, the U.S. National Junior Team claimed their fifth gold medal at the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship.

To date, the U.S. National Junior Team has claimed 13 medals, including five gold (2021, 2017, 2013, 2010, 2004), two silver (2019, 1997) and six bronze medals (2018, 2016, 2011, 2007, 1992, 1986).
