Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) and Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) scored third-period goals to help the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team rally for a 2-2 tie in the first of two games in the 2020 Series against Canada here today. Team USA goaltender Jen Lee (San Francisco, Calif.) finished with 16 saves. Both teams were up to the task in an exciting, but scoreless overtime period. Each team scored once in the three-round shootout -- with captain Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.) tallying for the U.S. -- leaving the final a 2-2 tie.
In its last 10 Series-specific games, the U.S. holds a record of 7-0-0-3-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T). All-time, the U.S. trails Canada, 13-4-5-26-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-1) in 47 series-specific meetings.
