BRAMPTON, Ont. – The U.S. Women’s National Team opens the playoff round with a quarterfinals meeting against Germany in the IIHF Women’s World Championship at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario on Thursday.

TODAY'S MATCH UP
Today's meeting against Germany marks the U.S.' quarterfinal game at the 2023 IIHF Women's World Championship. Team USA enters the playoff rounds as the second seed in Group A, ending the preliminary rounds with a 3-0-1-0 record.
AGAINST GERMANY...
Today's game is the seventh all-time meeting between Team USA and Germany at the WWC. The U.S. hosts a perfect 6-0 record against the Germans, having outscored them 71-2 all time. Today's game also marks the first meeting of the two teams in the playoff rounds.

The U.S. last met Germany in Women's Worlds play on April 17, 2017 in the semifinals of the 2017 WWC. Team USA won that game, 11-0, before going on to win the gold medal against Canada the next day. 13 different players recorded a point in the victory.
