The U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team (2-0-0-0/W-OTW-OTL-L) takes on Sweden tonight as it looks for its third consecutive victory at the 2019 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship. Tonight's final preliminary round matchups's puck drop is set for 5 p.m. local time (3 a.m. ET).
GAMEDAY
The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team plays its third and final game of its preliminary round schedule at the 2019 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship today against Sweden at Obihiro Forest Ice Arena. FACING THE SWEDES
The U.S. holds a 10-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record against Sweden all-time in IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship play. The two teams last met on Jan. 13, 2018 in the gold medal game of the 2018 tournament, where the U.S. earned a 9-3 win and its fourth consecutive gold medal. Four players recorded multi-goal games, including three skaters on this year's roster in Katy Knoll (Amherst, N.Y.), Abbey Murphy (Evergreen Park, Ill.) and Dominique Petrie (Hermosa Beach, Calif.).
GAME TWO RECAP
The aforementioned Murphy scored the game-winning goal and Skylar Vetter (Lakeville, Minn.) made 18 saves as Team USA defeated Canada, 3-2, in its second game of the 2019 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship.
"I think we played a strong, focused and intense game all the way through," said Maura Crowell (Mansfield, Mass.), head coach of the 2019 U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team. "To be down 2-0, then come back and score those two goals and get the go-ahead in the third really shows the character of the group we have. We'll enjoy this win tonight and look to continue improving against Sweden on Wednesday."

STREAKING
Casey O'Brien (Milton, Mass.) and Haley Winn (Rochester, N.Y.) both recorded one assist in Monday's win over Canada, becoming the lone U.S. skaters to record points in consecutive games. Meanwhile, Vetter picked up her second consecutive win for Team USA and has a 2.00 GAA through two games to go along with a .902 save percentage.
