FÜSSEN, Germany – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select team closes out its 2019 Five Nations Tournament campaign with a contest against host-nation Germany today at Füssen Arena.
Puck drop is slated for 4:30 p.m. (10:30 a.m. ET) and the game will be streamed on SportDeutschland.tv.
Today’s Opponent: Germany
Team USA is 4-1 (W-L) in its last five meetings with Germany at the Five Nations Tournament. The U.S. defeated Germany, 5-0, in an exhibition tune up ahead of the 2019 event last Sunday. Five different skaters tallied goals in the victory. Last year, the U.S. fell, 7-6, in overtime to the Germans, finishing the tournament 2-2 (W-L) for third place.

The U.S. Under-17 Men's Select Team suffered its first loss of the 2019 Five Nations Tournament after falling, 6-3, to the Czech Republic Friday at Füssen Arena.
Matt Argentina (Philadelphia, Penn.), Jackson Blake (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Luke Buss (Kansas City, Mo.) all scored for the U.S., but Czechia scored three goals in the second period and a pair of insurance goals in the final stanza to secure a 6-3 victory over Team USA.

Curley at the Helm:
Matt Curley (Madrid, N.Y.) is the head coach of the 2019 U.S. Under-17 Men's Select Team after serving as an assistant coach during the 2018 event in Piestany, Slovakia where the team finished third. Curley recently finished his first year as the head coach of the University of Alaska Anchorage men's hockey team, and previously spent three seasons as the head coach of the Alps Hockey League's EC Red Bulls Juniors team in Salzburg, Austria. Curley is assisted by Mike Corbett(Green Bay, Wis.), Rich Hansen (New York, N.Y.) and Dave Caruso (Roswell, Ga.)
About the Tournament:
The Under-17 Five Nations Tournament takes place annually and features a round-robin style tournament in which the U.S. competes alongside the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland. The 2019 U.S. Under-17 Select Team roster was chosen from players skating at USA Hockey's 2019 Boys Select 16 Player Development Camp in Amherst, New York.
